Marc Lohse

Marc Lohse is a pianist and music educator from Germany. He holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Classical Piano with focus on Performance and Pedagogy from the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, where he studied with Prof. Rudolf Meister and Ok-Hi Lee. Also formative were his additional studies with Prof. Axel Bauni from the Berlin University of the Arts. Currently, Marc is pursuing the Master of Music in Classical Piano at the Manhattan School of Music under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Inesa Sinkevych.

A scholarship holder of the German Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation, Marc has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions. Most recently, in April 2023, he won the Lillian-Fuchs-Chamber-Competition in New York and in July 2023 he won the Concerto Competition of the Talent Summer Courses in Brescia, Italy, playing Beethoven’s 2nd Piano Concerto. Both as a soloist and ensemble member, Marc made recordings for the German radio stations Deutschlandfunk Kultur and SWR (Southwest Broadcasting) and has given concerts across Europe. Festival performances include the International Goslar Piano Festival, Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Kammermusikfestival Heidelberg and Hirschberger Liedfest, among others.

As an educator, Marc enjoys passing on his love for music to students of various ages and backgrounds, building on his earlier experience working in the Municipal Music School Mannheim and the Music Conservatory Chemnitz. He has conducted his own private studio since 2016.
