Admission
The Bronx Conservatory of Music offers private instrument/voice instruction (supplemented by free small group music skills classes) for all children regardless of previous experience or skill. Adults are welcome to enroll if studio lesson time is available.
Since preference is given to returning students, lesson times for new students at Bronx Conservatory are very limited. Enrollment operates on a rolling basis and registrations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis
Minimum Age
The minimum age to begin instrument lessons is five years old (four years old is possible subject to approval of instructor). For voice, the minimum age to begin lessons is 6 years old.
Tuition and fees
Registration and tuition fees are charged per term, and pro-rated if lessons begin after the term starts. Fall and spring terms are 15 weeks each. A registration fee of $35 is charged once per semester per family for registration.
Small group Musicianship Skills classes are free upon enrollment in private lessons, and level placement will be determined by a short test at the start of the semester. A limited number of keyboards, string instruments, and guitars are available for loan free of charge, subject to availability.
30-minute private lesson tuition 2023-24
Bronx resident: $390 for 15-week term ($26 per lesson)
Non-resident and/or online: $430 for 15-week term ($29 per lesson)
60-minute private lesson tuition 2023-24
Bronx resident: $780 for 15-week term ($52 per lesson)
Non-resident and/or online: $870 for 15-week term ($58 per lesson)
Tuition payment terms
Payment of tuition for the 15-week term is due in full at registration.
A installment payment plan is available. Students opting into this plan can pay 50% of the semester’s tuition in the first week and 50% in the fifth week of each semester. This service has a small fee of $20 and requires credit card authorization for both payments.
Payments can be made by: zelle, credit card, cash, personal check, e-check, or money order.
