Dr. Michele Michaelis Slifka

Michele brings to the Bronx Conservatory a unique background fusing over a decade as a performing and teaching artist, and a robust career as a strategy consultant.  She has performed with numerous orchestras in New York and across Europe and has taught violin and multiple undergraduate and graduate music courses at Hunter College, Kean University, and Broward College (FLA), where she also conducted the Broward Symphony Orchestra.  Throughout her career she has remained dedicated to teaching young violinists at schools including The Riverdale Country School, The Hackley School, and several music schools throughout NYC.

In 2009, Michele decided to pivot her career to focus on entrepreneurship and growth strategies for organizations.  After completing her MBA, she was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, working with fortune-fifty companies in the financial, entertainment, and healthcare industries.  She went on to focus on strategic marketing and consulting for non-profits and was asked to join the BCM team in July 2022.

Michele holds a BA in Mathematics and a BM in Violin Performance from Indiana University (Bloomington), a MM from Mannes College, a Doctorate in Music from the City University of New York, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
