Luis Villalona

Luis Villalona is a native New Yorker whose family immigrated from the Dominican Republic. Growing up in Ridgewood, Queens, he always had a passion for music, but the neighborhood lacked the resources to provide affordable music education to its residents. This fueled Luis’ passion for making music education accessible to all. Luis went on to study at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, where he obtained his Associate in Music Education. There he studied cello with Robert Reed, the current Vice President of the Violoncello Society of New York. Luis is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in music; while simultaneously working towards earning his Master of Arts in Music Teaching at Lehman College in the Bronx, where he currently resides.
