Rebecca Wuu

Rebecca Wuu is a pianist, music teacher, and audio engineer from Fremont, California. At age 13, she made her concerto debut performing Mozart Concerto no. 20 with the Oakland Civic Orchestra. As a performer, Rebecca has participated in the Brevard Music Festival, Beijing International Music Festival Academy, and the Amalfi Piano Festival in Italy. She has played in master classes by Jon Nakamatsu, John Perry, and Ruth Sleczynska. In 2017, Rebecca graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Recording Arts and a Master of Arts in Audio Sciences, studying under Professor Yong Hi Moon. Rebecca recently completed her Master of Music Degree at Mannes under the tutelage of Professor Eteri Andjaparidze. She will be continuing her studies as a DMA candidate at SUNY Stony Brook with pianist Gilbert Kalish.

Rebecca has been teaching piano since 2013 and was also a teaching assistant at the Peabody Preparatory program. Upon graduating in 2017, she moved back to California and joined the piano faculty at Valley Christian Schools and Apostles Lutheran School in San Jose. She also started her own private studio, working with students from age 4 to 18. Rebecca was an active member of the Music Teachers Association of California and her students excelled in the annual Certificate of Merit examinations.

Rebecca is passionate about teaching and focuses on helping her students discover the joy of music. She believes in a holistic music education that encompasses history, theory, technique, and artistry. Her goal is to help each student become confident, independent musicians.
